The Resort Insider: Dec. 1-11

November 30, 2011

The Good News.

As we move into December, the activity level in Waterville Valley has picked up and that means The Resort Insider is chock-a-block full of things to do.  Check out the latest issue of The Resort Insider newsletter here

Upcoming events include “Customer Appreciation Day” and the annual “Holiday Lights Awards Party” at Town Square – TOMORROW, Thursday, Dec. 1 – and  the annual “Cookies & Snow: A Taste of the Holidays” on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The Bad News.

Mother Nature has not been very cooperative. These balmy temperatures are great in April.  Not so good at the end of November.  As I drove into work this morning, the Mad River was flowing angrily towards Campton and I could count the dollar bills flowing down from Mt. Tecumseh.

Here’s the latest word from the mountain:  *UPDATE* Unfortunately Mother Nature has delivered unseasonably warm temperatures and rain this week, forcing a temporary closing of the mountain. The forecast for colder temperatures at our 4,000′ summit look favorable for snowmaking to resume on Thursday and Friday. Check back daily for the latest updates, we’ll reopen as soon as weather conditions permit. Pray for snow!
