Thoughts are with Ann Whitehouse & Family

The Waterville Valley community joins me in sending condolences to our postmistress, Ann Whitehouse, and her family following the loss of her father, Clifton “Kip” Shores.

CAMPTON – Clifton “Kip” Lawrence Shores, 94, of Campton, passed away at his home on Friday, April 25, 2014. He and his surviving wife of 62 years, Thelma (Smith), raised a family of six daughters, Linda Mitchell of Burnham, Maine, Darlene Atwood, of North Sandwich, Melody Elliott, of Munroe, N.C., Shari Kyes, of Jensen Beach, Fla., Gail Shores, of Tamworth, and Ann Whitehouse, of Campton. Kip is also survived by 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: In lieu of flowers, donations in Kip’s memory may be made to the N.H. Humane Society, P.O. Box 572, Laconia, 03246. A graveside service was held on Friday, May 2, at 2 p.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery (Route 175), Thornton. Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor emeritus of the Plymouth United Methodist Church officiated.
