Waterville Valley Building Boom

November 28, 2012

If you take a drive around northern New England ski resort communities, you won’t see much if any new construction.  Waterville Valley bucks that trend with a number of new homes under construction, including the environmentally friendly Green Peak attached mountain homes and a home on Snows Mountain.

Green Peak is the first new condominium to be developed in Waterville Valley since 2006, and the resort’s first subdivision featuring innovative green building and design techniques.  Interest in the project has been high and two of the three homes currently under construction have already been reserved.

ABODE, the premiere developer of green homes is proud to introduce Green Peak, located in the heart of Waterville Valley with sweeping views of Mount Osceola.

ABODE creates homes that are beautiful, comfortable, low-maintenance, highly energy efficient and built of materials that will last – without harming the world we live in.

Key features at Green Peak include three or four bedrooms, 2,500 sq. ft. (plus large unfinished basement), 8-inch solid block concrete separation walls between units for sound attenuation, oversized garages, covered porches, high-quality and energy efficient Pella windows and doors, high performance insulation and state-of-the-art air sealing system, high efficiency heating system with filtration and ventilation system, water conserving products and appliances, low VOC paints, carpets and pads,  non-toxic caulks, sealers and adhesives for a healthy home, and locally sourced materials for environmental sustainability.

ABODE’s award-winning design/build approach can also be found on Snows Mountain where they are constructing an energy efficient and environmentally-friendly single-family home that is available for purchase.

The Snows Mountain Home has a fabulous mountainside perch looking west across North Waterville to sunsets, Mt. Tecumseh and Green Peak.  This green-theme mountain home has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a family room, screened porch, two car garage, and plenty of storage space.

ABODE principal and Waterville Valley resident, Bob Wildes, says “I’m very excited and proud to be building these two projects.  Stop by and see our innovative construction methods and design features, which are more energy efficient and environmentally-friendly than a conventionally built home.”
