Waterville Valley Freestyle & Freeskiing Programs

Waterville Valley’s BBTS Snowsports Educational Foundation is offering the following Freestyle/Freeskiing program options for the 2013-14 season:

Groms, ages 8-10 – Coach: Ned Morse

This program focuses on developing a well-rounded skier. Technique is learned with an emphasis on freeskiing. Young athletes are introduced to basic jumping, moguls and small terrain park features.

Devo (B’s), ages 11-14 – Coaches: Wes Preston, Nick Dziemien, Will Zimicki

This is a competitive freestyle/freeskiing program designed for skiers of all skill levels. There is an emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, and competition strategy. Skiers will compete in Slopestyle, Moguls and Aerials.

Eastern Freeskiing Team, ages 15 + – Coaches: Rob Dresser, Wynn Berns, Tyler Thistle

This program is designed for skiers who want to spend a lot of time in the terrain park. This program will have different groups on two tracks.  Track 1 will be for freestyle athletes who are working to qualify for Junior Nationals or Eastern Championships.  Track 2 will be for Freestyle athletes who will compete at USASA competitions, freeride training and filming.

Eastern Mogul Team, ages 15 + – Coaches: Nick Preston, Ryan Goldsmith

This program follows the Eastern Competition Series “A”mogul tour and the Nor-Am tour (for those athletes who qualify). This program will produce the best skiers on the mountain.

Combined Team, ages 15 + – Nick Preston, Wes Preston

This program is for athletes that want to be the best all-around skiers. These athletes will train and compete in Slopestyle, Moguls, and Aerials.

Elite Freeskiing Team, ages 15+ – Dan Shuffleton, Wynn Berns

This program is for slopestyle competitors that want to reach the highest levels of the sport. A high level of commitment is necessary for this team.
