If you’ve read my previous dining reviews (written under my pseudonym, the Waterville Valley Gourmet), then you know I’m a big fan of the Coyote Grill restaurant in Waterville Valley. Chef/owner, Sean Stout, is a graduate of the highly acclaimed Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute in Providence, RI, and he’s been wowing our palates in Waterville Valley for over 25 years.
I celebrated my birthday by dining out at the Coyote Grill. It happened to be a Tuesday night, which is $20 Tuesday! My husband – a thrifty Yankee (aka cheapskate) – was thrilled. We could choose an appetizer and entree from the menu, below, and it only cost twenty bucks! You can’t beat that with a stick.
We had the New England clam chowder, spring rolls, buffalo meatloaf and haddock. Sean knows my husband is a beet fanatic so he brought us a platter of golden beets in a balsamic truffle oil reduction with decadently rich deep fried cheese tidbits. Oh, and the portion size? HUGE. We each left with doggie bags that we did NOT share with the dogs, and which fed us two more meals!
