Waterville Valley School Honors Veteran’s

November 4, 2018

Waterville Valley Elementary School invites community members to attend an all-school assembly to honor our Veterans on Friday, Nov. 9, starting at 8 a.m.

The assembly will be held in the school’s multi-purpose room (enter through the Recreation Department).

If you are a Veteran and planning to attend, please contact Carol at 603-236-4730 so they can acknowledge your service during the assembly.

Last year’s assembly was very moving as every student in the school accompanied a Veteran to his or her reserved seat at the front of the room. Students read stories about Veteran’s service and led the audience in singing patriotic songs.

One Waterville Valley Veteran, in particular, holds a special place in our collective hearts.  Army Spc Marc Paul Decoteau was 19 years old when he died on Jan. 29, 2010, while serving with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.  Marc lived with his family in Waterville Valley. He attended the Waterville Valley Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth Regional High School.
