Wilderness First Aid Course to be offered in Waterville Valley

September 24, 2012

WVAIA (Waterville Valley Athletic & Improvement Association) is once again offering the SOLO Wilderness First Aid course in Waterville Valley this fall on Saturday and Sunday, November 3 & 4.  The 2-day course generally runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.  The cost is $135 ($115 for WVAIA members).  A basic CPR course will be available on Saturday evening for an additional fee.

SOLO is the leader in wilderness medicine training in the United States.  Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is SOLO’s most popular course and it creates a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Started as the “Mountain/Woods First Aid” course in 1975, this was the first course of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based.

If you haven’t yet taken this course, or if your certification has expired, this is the perfect opportunity to get certified…and you can’t ask for a more convenient and pleasant venue than Waterville Valley, NH!

Mark your calendars!  More details will follow.
