September 20, 2013

Waterville Valley Resort will host the first ever “Finale in the Valley” on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013.

The race is the culmination of the newly formed Waterville Valley Cross Country League’s high school championship meet and involves runners from Belmont, Berlin, Gilford, Gorham, InterLakes, Kearsarge, Kennett, Kingswood, Laconia, Lin-Wood, Moultonborough Academy, Newfound, Plymouth, Prospect Mountain, Sant Bani, White Mountains and Winnisquam.

Several hundred athletes and spectators will start arriving in Waterville Valley Town Square at around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 27.  The race course will open for inspection at 3 p.m., and the boy’s race will start at Packard Field at 4 p.m., followed by the girls at 4:45 p.m.  The race course ends in Town Square.

Let’s make this new event a memorable one for the athletes, coaches and parents!  Plan on watching the races and cheering on the athletes.  Volunteer to help if you can!   Contact Rene Schwartz at the White Mountain Athletic Club for details at 603-236-8303 or send him an email.
