Waterville Valley’s Annual Ugotta Regatta

August 1, 2017

We like to do things the “Waterville Valley way.”  And that means hosting a “regatta” of homemade “boats” on the 6-acre man-made Corcoran Pond in Waterville Valley.

The annual Ugotta Regatta is coming right up on Saturday, Aug. 5.  Everyone – young and old alike – is invited to participate in the regatta’s boat oughtta float competition and kayak and canoe races.

Ugotta Regatta Details

9:30-11 a.m. Boat building workshop – Corcoran Pond Beach. Build your “boat oughtta float” vessel with supplies provided by the Recreation Department. Or, bring your own boat, but remember that the boat foundation must be made of duct tape and cardboard. FREE!

9:30-11:30 a.m.  Join Curious George Cottage volunteers on Corcoran Pond Beach for a Curious George story time and paper boat building.  FREE!

11 a.m.  Test your boat-building skills in the boat oughtta float contest.  Corcoran Pond. FREE!

11:30 a.m. Kayak and canoe boat races will happen immediately following the boat oughtta float contest.  Dock at Corcoran Pond.  FREE!

If you would like to pre-register for the boat races, contact the Waterville Valley Recreation Department at 603-236-4695 or stop by the Info Booth in Town Square on Friday, August 4.

Enjoy the whole day in Town Square!  There will be live music from the gazebo stage in the Town Square courtyard from 12-3 p.m. with Brad and Joey, and 6-9 p.m. with Brian Walker.
