Welch-Dickey make list of ‘favorite hiking spots’

September 22, 2012

We are a list loving society!

WMUR’s Facebook fans and readers voted on their favorite hiking spots in New Hampshire and a Waterville Valley-region hike made the top 10 list.

The Welch Mountain and Dickey Mountain Loop came in at #5.  This loop hike is a perennial favorite with hikers.  Although the summit heights aren’t as grand as the 4,000-footers (Welch is 2605′ and Dickey is 2734′), the open ledges of Welch provide breathtaking panoramic views and Dickey’s views of Franconia Ridge and the notch are just as impressive.
