What a great weekend

October 13, 2013

I spent much of last week preparing for the Parade of Homes open house event.  The Waterville Valley Realty Team is helping ABODE Builders showcase their two new construction properties in Waterville Valley – Green Peak and the Snows Mountain House – as part of the fundraising house tour to benefit the WLNH Children’s Auction.

Props to ABODE’s trades people for getting both properties in show worthy condition.  If you could have seen both of these homes just a week ago, you would have exclaimed, “And you’re going to have an open house here this weekend? You’re nuts!”

Kudos to ABODE principal, Bob Wildes, and his wife, Janet, for the endless hours they put into cleaning, furnishing, decorating and putting the finishing touches on the Snows Mountain House (Green Peak is looking great, and about 2-3 weeks from completion, but you can still imagine the possibilities of furnishing and decorating it).

I spent all day Saturday greeting visitors at Green Peak and the Snows Mountain House.  Last night when I got home I should have been exhausted and soaking my feet in epsom salt.  Instead, I was energized!  The weather was great (how can you NOT be happy when the sun is shining on a cool October day?).  Everyone – and I mean every ONE of the people who walked through both homes was impressed with the quality construction, finishes and attention to detail.  People shared their love for Waterville Valley and in some cases their dreams to own a home in our valley.  And I got to meet some readers of my blog who thanked me for keeping them connected to Waterville Valley…which, in turn, inspires me to keep on writing (‘cuz I’ve gotta admit some days it’s a wee bit of a struggle!).  It was a great day!

And I’m going to do it again today and tomorrow!  So, if I didn’t get a chance to meet you yesterday, then come on over and visit me at Green Peak (9 Devereaux Way) and the Snows Mountain House (106 Boulder Path Road) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

It’s not only fun to take a peek at these gorgeous brand new homes, but it IS for the children, too.  Bring 5 bucks and drop it in the collection box for the WLNH Children’s Auction.

By the way, here’s my favorite room at the Snows Mountain House – the four season porch…
